Project Management & Consultancy
Mining Project Management That Controls Cost & Risk
Feasibility, planning, compliance, and execution support for owners, investors, and junior miners.
Deciding whether a project should proceed
The most valuable work happens before commitment. Scoping and feasibility studies test whether a deposit, a plant expansion or a contract mining arrangement actually stands up: resource and extraction assumptions, mining method selection, capital and operating costs built from quantities rather than percentages, a schedule, and the permitting path with realistic timeframes attached to it. The output is a decision you can defend to a board, a lender or a joint-venture partner — including, where the numbers say so, a recommendation not to proceed. That answer is far cheaper at study stage than at month eighteen.
Setting a project up to be controlled
Projects fail at their interfaces more often than at their engineering. We put in place the structures that make cost and schedule visible early: a work breakdown that matches how the work will actually be contracted, a baseline schedule with the critical path identified, a cost plan tied to that same breakdown, and a risk register carrying named owners and funded mitigations rather than a list of concerns. Contractor selection, scope definition and tender evaluation are handled so the contract you sign describes the work you need and puts each risk with whoever is genuinely able to manage it.
Execution oversight and owner's representation
During delivery we act in the owner's interest on site: verifying progress claims against work actually in place, controlling variations before they harden into disputes, holding quality and safety requirements, and managing the interface with the Minerals Commission, the Environmental Protection Agency and other regulators so obligations are met on schedule rather than discovered late. Reporting is written for whoever has to act on it — an investor needs a different report from a site manager, and both should be able to trace it to the same underlying position. For junior miners without in-house technical capacity, this is the function that keeps a project on its plan.
